Our Commitment

Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands (ESCCI) is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone—regardless of ability—deserves equal access to information about the services, programs, and resources we provide to older adults.

We are working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the internationally recognized standard for digital accessibility.

Conformance Status

The ESCCI website is conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with the exceptions noted below.

The remaining exceptions involve third-party services that are hosted outside of escci.org and are not within our direct control.

What We’ve Done

We engaged 118Group, a web development partner with accessibility experience spanning Fortune 500 companies to nonprofit organizations, to lead our compliance effort.

An independent, third-party auditor tested all Representative Page Templates (RPTs) that structurally power the site—an approach that provides site-wide coverage rather than testing pages one at a time. All issues identified in the audit were remediated, and the auditor conducted a second round of testing to verify the fixes were implemented correctly.

Known Exceptions

Third-party donation platform

Our online donation process directs users to Donor Perfect, a third-party platform hosted on a separate website outside of our control. Because it operates independently from escci.org, we are unable to guarantee its accessibility. If you experience difficulty completing a donation, please contact us and we will assist you.

Third-party Career Center for job applicants.

Job seekers who apply for positions with ESCCI are directed to ADP WorkforceNow, a third-party recruiting and application platform hosted on a separate website outside of our control. Because it operates independently from escci.org, we are unable to guarantee its accessibility. If you experience difficulty viewing or applying for a position, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.

Translation widget

The Google Translate widget embedded on our site is a third-party tool whose accessibility is outside our direct control. If you experience difficulty using the translation feature, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.
