RSVP Spotlights Glenn Davis

AmeriCorps Seniors staff is proud to celebrate Glenn Davis of Mashpee as Volunteer of the Month for December 2022!

Glenn has been an active AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer since 2019 with quite a number of our Volunteer Stations. He keeps himself busy year round with projects from Center for Coastal Studies (CCS), Mashpee Conservation Department, Waquoit Bay National Research Reserve (WBNERR), MA Division of Marine Fisheries, Meals on Wheels, radon testing and a bunch more!

Glenn and his wife, Deb, moved to Cape Cod fulltime after living in Natick for over 37 years.  After living inland for so long, they decided to move to the Cape to be near the ocean and enjoy all that Cape Cod has to offer. They first and foremost love the water of Cape Cod.

When Glenn moved to the Cape yearround, he was looking to meet new people, get involved and explore new interests. AmeriCorps Seniors, specifically Senior Environment Corps, seemed like the perfect fit for him. Glenn has had a lifelong passion for wildlife, citizen science and environmental issues. Glad we could help you find your purpose on the Cape, Glenn!

Glenn spends his time on projects like water monitoring, land stewardship, and AmeriCorps Seniors clean ups. He also has helped with the state’s horseshoe crab survey, Joint Base Cape Cod’s avian nesting box survey, and Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary’s coldstunned turtle program.

When he’s not volunteering with AmeriCorps Seniors, Glenn is volunteering for other organizations, such as the Friends of Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge (he is currently serving as their President), WBNERR, Town of Mashpee Conservation and other departments. He is also a parttime beach sculpture artist, and enjoys activities like sailing, kayaking, biking, hiking, tennis and swimming. Glenn, do you have time to sleep?

Thank you, Glenn, for your service and commitment! It’s wonderful to watch you attain your goals for a full and fascinating life!!
