Mature Workers Program
Become a Host Agency
The Mature Workers Program provides a “bridge back to work” for individuals, 55 years and older, seeking to re-enter the workforce. An important part of that bridge is a paid community service assignment to expand and update job skills.
Candidates placed through the Mature Workers Program are hired, supervised and evaluated by the Host Agency, but paid by Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands. In return, these host agencies are expected to provide on-the-job training and supervision for program participants. Participants typically work twenty hours per week at the Host Agency. At the end of their assignment, participants are generally ready to seek unsubsidized employment. Often Host Agencies want to offer employment to the program participant, who is now a well-trained worker.
If your non-profit organization or government agency needs someone to carry out an assignment that will contribute to its mission of benefiting the community, consider filling it with one of our Mature Workers. If you recognize the value mature workers add to an organization, consider creating a community service assignment for one of our participants.
Host Agencies provide community services such as education, housing, social services, health services, recreation, and senior services.
The Mature Workers Program is always eager to work with interested organizations to develop appropriate community service assignments and refer well matched candidates. Call us at 508-394-4630, extension 540 to start the process.
